Bombay, August 10 (IANS): Actor Ankur Rathee who tries to make his presence felt in every project he chooses, be it a movie or a web series, says the digital entertainment space offers a lot on creating unique and specialized content and c that’s why nowadays every story finds its potential audience.
Ankur told IANS: âI think OTT platforms give a chance to create specialized content for filmmakers or storytellers. Now we know that nothing is offbeat or niche. Every type of story has its audience. So every actor has an opportunity or the other, they don’t have to be a particular type, but they are allowed to be unique. In mainstream cinema, before, there was a specific look, the acting style required to match the bill of a mainstream actor. Now it is a celebration of being unique because a lot of specialty content, be it movies, web series, is created . “
The actor has appeared in major roles in films like âThe Tashkent Filesâ, âThappadâ, âTaishâ and web series like âFour More Shots Please! ‘,’ Made In Heaven ‘,’ Hello Mini ‘,’ Mission Over Mars’, ‘Undekhi’ and recently on ‘City Of Dreams Season 2’.
Asked about the best lessons he learned from all of these filmmakers, Ankur explained how very different each of them is.
Ankur said: âFor example, from Anubhav sir, I learned that the message or the theme of the film is the real hero. After the release of ‘Thappad’, an important conversation around the gender equation in a marital relationship, domestic violence and the role of society has also started. Bejoy Nambiar sir always tries to offer something so visually appealing in every movie he makes. I have learned that there is a beauty infinity that one can bring into a setting; that the aesthetic aspect of cinema is so glorious, if you indulge in it. Regarding Nagesh sir, I have just realized how much intuitive collaboration is between an actor and a director to create magic in a scene. “
Currently, the actor is filming for the new season of the web series “Undekhi” and in the pre-production of a film that has not yet been announced.
