Elon Musk has completed his takeover of Twitter for $44 billion.
The world’s richest man closed the deal on Thursday evening (27.10.22), and after the takeover two of the company’s top executives, chief executive Parag Agrawal and chief financial officer Ned Segal are said to have quit the company, according to Bloomberg.
Referring to the Twitter logo, Larry T Bird, Elon tweeted: “the bird is released”
Twitter has yet to confirm the sale of the company, but an early investor in the company has confirmed to the BBC that a deal has been struck.

Earlier this week, Elon – who has over 110 million followers on the platform – shared a video of himself arriving at Twitter headquarters with a sink.
He wrote: “Enter Twitter headquarters – let him in!”
Elon also posted, “I met a lot of cool people on Twitter today!”
Additionally, during the week, Elon took to Twitter to explain his motivation for buying the platform and his vision for how it could moderate content.
He tweeted in a post titled “Dear Twitter Advertisers”: “The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital public square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy way, without resorting to violence.”
Elon added that there is a huge danger that social media could split into far-right and far-left echo chambers that could divide society, warning: “In the relentless pursuit of clicks, much mainstream media have fueled and responded to these polarized extremes. , because they think that’s what makes money, but in doing so the possibility of dialogue is lost.
“Twitter obviously cannot become a free-for-all hellscape, where anything can be said without consequences! In addition to respecting the laws of the land, our platform should be warm and welcoming to all, where you can choose the “desired experience. according to your preferences, just as you can choose, for example, to see movies or play video games ranging from all ages to maturity.
