GMA and ABS-CBN among Reader’s Digest winners

GMA and ABS-CBN and several of their talents were honored at the 2022 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards, with ceremonies held on April 8. GMA again won the Platinum Award in the TV Network category, the highest honor among the Most Trusted Brands. Meanwhile, ABS-CBN received a Gold Award for the second year in a row, after winning the Platinum Award from 2016 to 2020. GMA reporters Jessica Soho and Mike Enriquez were named Most Trusted Personalities in their respective categories. . Already in the Reader’s Digest Hall of Fame, Ms. Soho was hailed as “TV’s most trusted news and current affairs host” for the 13and consecutive time. Mr. Enriquez won his eighth award as “Most Trusted Radio Presenter”. Meanwhile, ABS-CBN talent Vice Ganda was the “Most Trusted Entertainment/Variety Anchor” for the fourth year in a row. Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands awards recognize the brands and services, as well as personalities, that consumers trust the most. The determination is made through its Trustmark Survey.

Waterwalk Records releases 3 songs

Waterwalk Records is a label under Sony Music that focuses on fresh Christian music. The label, which showcases religious entertainment shows from the Philippines and across the Asian region, crossing genres and faiths, released three new tracks for the first quarter of the year. Newly formed musical group Sam&Steff, a pop duo consisting of Sam and Steff Evangelista, released the hymn “Oh, Your Goodness!” Janine Danielle has “Why Do You Love Me,” an inspirational ballad written and composed for her by husband-and-wife team of musicians Moira Dela Torre and Jason Hernandez. Meanwhile, EJ De Perio released a musical version of a conversation between him and God, “buntong hiningawhich is based on a dream he had. Hip-hip group PLAN B releases its first single

Hip-hop group TEN-MEMBER PLAN B has released their first official single under Sony Music Philippines, “Love.” With lyrics written by PLAN B’s Mateo and Gio and arranged by SB19’s Pablo, “Love” chronicles several failed attempts to pursue someone on a romantic level. Its music video, directed by Ken Tan of Chapters PH, features two friends who go above and beyond as they compete for a girl’s attention, only to find out she already has a boyfriend. PLAN B is an up-and-coming hip-hop/rap ensemble made up of members from all over the Philippines: Alyas Dom (Metro Manila), DK (Pangasinan), Dyno (Bicol), Gio (Metro Manila), G-Next (Laguna), GOSGE (Cavite), Kaizler (Pangasinan), Kier (Pangasinan), Mateo (Cagayan De Oro) and Skyruz (Misamis Oriental). They are currently managed by Skye Productions, which has H-BOM and Ren on its roster. “Love” is available on all digital music platforms globally through Sony Music Philippines.

Dreamcatcher releases a new album

THE SEVEN-MEMBER Korean rock band Dreamcatcher have released their second album, [Apocalypse: Save us]. The 14-track album is the first of a project apocalypse trilogy. [Apocalypse: Save us] is a desperate plea to save the planet from ecological damage and global warming. The title track, “House” (“home” in French) remains faithful to the sound identity and style of Dreamcatcher based on the rock genre and bass distortion. Additionally, the album features solo tracks written and sung by each member. Dreamcatcher is due to perform at Primavera Sound Barcelona 2022 in June. [Apocalypse: Save us] is available on all digital music platforms globally through Sony Music Entertainment Korea.

Season 2 of Bachelor’s Hell confirmed

REALITY Dating Series Bachelor’s Hell will have a second season, it was confirmed in a press release from the producers. Its first season ranked in the global Netflix TOP 10 (non-English TV list) for three consecutive weeks, ranking 4and in the charts at its peak. Directed by Kim Jae-won and Kim Na-hyun and produced by Shijak Company and JTBC, the series follows driven contestants to find love, pair up, and find their version of “heaven.” The first season of the show is available on Netflix.
