Joey King’s High-Speed Train Imposter Syndrome | Entertainment News

Joey King felt like a “fish out of water” with impostor syndrome when she arrived on the set of “Bullet Train.”

The 22-year-old actress stars opposite Brad Pitt in the 2022 action/comedy, and despite working on film sets for nearly two decades, the ‘Kissing Booth’ star felt to step onto set for the first time while working with the Hollywood legend.

She told Digital Spy: “I’ve been acting for almost 19 years now, which is actually crazy, but I feel like this movie, walking into this set, I felt like I was coming to land in Los Angeles and it was my first [movie]. I felt so out of the water, impostor syndrome, I was like, ‘What am I doing here? I don’t deserve to be here.'”

However, the ‘Fight Club’ star, 58, immediately put her at ease and she was ‘so comfortable’ in his company.

She continued, “But working on this movie with the whole cast and of course Brad, I mean he’s f****** Brad Pitt at the end of the day, we love Brad Pitt, it was really an honor, not just because they’re so talented and have such cool careers, but because they’re the coolest humans to work with Brad became someone I was so comfortable with and I feel so lucky to have been able to share this time with, I absolutely adore her.”

Joey loved that his Prince persona was “gender swappable”.

She said: “First of all, I loved my character, everything she wrote, how mean she was, but also that her name is so strong and powerful. Like you said, they changed my gender, but they kept my name like The Prince. It made me so happy because I was like, ‘That name seems like the perfect way for me to build the character around her because he made me feel so strong and powerful’. I knew who I wanted her to be based on the strength I feel when I say, ‘I am the Prince’.”

Brad stars as assassin Ladybug in the film, who wants to give up on life but is held back by her master Maria Beetle (Sandra Bullock) in order to retrieve a briefcase from a high-speed train traveling from Tokyo to Kyoto. Aboard the train, he and other competing assassins discover that their goals are all connected.
