No more social activist Altaf Hussain

Srinagar – The disappearance of Altaf Hussain Joo, commonly known as Taatha, is widely welcomed.

Taatha, from Dalgate, died Monday morning at his Jan Mohalla residence in Lal Bazar after a brief period of illness, family sources said.

Taatha, who retired as financial controller of SICOP, was well known for his tireless work for social causes. He was associated with various trusts and institutions working for public welfare.

His passing was widely mourned and people remember his outstanding social work.

Ittehadul Muslimeen Chairman Masroor Abbas Ansari and Shia Association Secretary General Abid Ansari paid tribute to Altaf Hussain and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family in separate statements.
