Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s latest film, Doctor, achieved a huge feat, infusing much needed positivity into the Tamil film industry. The film raised Rs 100 crore worldwide, lifting the gloom that has enveloped the exhibition sector since the Covid-19 epidemic.
â25 days of this BLOCKBUSTER vera maari that makes you laugh, applaud and cheer! We’re happy to report that #Doctor has officially grossed 100 crore in theaters, âtweeted KJR Studios, who co-funded the film with Sivakarthikeyan.
In addition to funding the film, Sivakarthikeyan also starred in it. The film opened to packed theaters and positive reviews on October 9, which was a very satisfying outcome for the producers, who were determined to release the film in theaters first despite the uncertainties surrounding it.

Surprisingly, even after the filmmakers announced the dates for the film’s digital and televised debut, the black comedy about human trafficking continues to draw many moviegoers to cinemas in Tamil Nadu.
Doctor’s box office performance set the stage for Deepavali’s big releases, as exhibitors are confident that superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Annaatthe will further contribute to the recovery of the exhibits industry.
Annaatthe is set to hit theaters on November 4, coinciding with the Deepavali celebrations. Enemy, with Vishal and Arya in the lead roles, will also hit theaters on the same day.
