Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to social media after Dusan Vlahovic appeared to have ruled out the prospect of leaving Fiorentina in the January transfer window after revealing his aim to secure European qualification for the Italian outfit.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with The sun claiming last month that Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United were all keen to secure his services.
Vlahovic is out of contract this summer and club president Rocco Commisso announcement in a statement on the official website in October, he had tried to make the Serb the highest-paid player ever in the club’s history.
Vlahovic said Politika.rs“I’ve said it many times so far. There is a good history of football being made here in Florence.
“We have a good team, great players, great fan support. Everything deserves respect.
“Only God knows what will happen in the next period. My desire is to bring Fiorentina to Europe, because we haven’t been there for a long time. We’ll see.”
The 21-year-old has continued his impressive form in front of goal this season, having scored 18 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for Fiorentina (transfer market), with La Viola currently sitting seventh in the Serie A table.
Here’s how some Spurs reacted to news of the prospect that the club are missing out on the prolific hitman during the current window.

It does not mean anything. He also said something about staying long-term at Fiorentina a few months ago but rejected all new contract offers. This is only lip service for Fiorentina fans.

Always a summer move anyway

Ok cool, we move on to Julián Álvarez

Spend the money now and secure it for the summer.

I’m sure he covers both bases. Saying only God knows and he wants to stay puts the ball in the spurs court and if he does end up staying it shows the fans he’s committed to them and he’s not pushing to move.

He said we’ll see and only God knows, so don’t rule it out, do you! We offer the money, they accept it, he joins us! Simple! But don’t think we’ll move it though, I have a bad feeling the levy is gonna drop the tale

He’s not coming to Spurs. It makes no sense from his point of view.

Looks like he completely rules out leaving the club. Not specifically just spurs.

Securing Vlahovic’s signature in January would have been a huge boost in our quest to finish in the top four and also give the club a ready-made replacement should Harry Kane leave North London.
If he becomes a free agent this summer, Spurs could struggle to match the wages other clubs could offer the Serb.
